PRODUCTS AND SERVICES


 

The Company operates in various business segments through Strategic Business Units [SBUs] and Joint Venture Companies [JVCs]. It is the market leader in Steel Barrel, Industrial Greases & Specialty Lubricants, Logistics services and Travel. It also has significant presence in most of the other businesses it operates, namely, Leather Chemicals, Logistics Infrastructure, Refinery & Oil Field Services [ROFS], etc.


 

OPENING


 

Logistics Services business is an important activity of the Company with a potential of generating exponential growth for the Company in near future. The vacancy is for one position, to be operated as Branch Head based at Bengaluru.


 

The incumbent selected for this position will be headquartered at Bengaluru and will be responsible for the Branch operations of Bengaluru and associated satellite branches of Trivandrum, Cochin and Mangalore.


 

The performance focus of the role holder will be to enhance Turnover, Market-share and Customer Satisfaction level for the branches. Incumbent is also responsible for improving overall operating efficiency, maintain and augment the profitability of the Branch.


 

As the Branch Head of Bengaluru, the incumbent will be required to lead a team of professionals, drive innovation and efficiency in operations and ensure sustained excellence in service delivery.


 

The incumbent must have excellent knowledge of the business and communication abilities as he/ she will be required to interact with overseas associates on a need basis and to develop strategies to beat competition in a fiercely competitive market.


 

The role holder will be responsible for creating conducive work climate and culture in the Branch. Lead the team from the front and deal with key accounts, directly if need be.


 


 

PERSON PROFILE


 

[a]    Age

Not more than 48 years as on the date of notification. Relaxation as per Government of

India directives applies to SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates.


 

[b]    Qualification

Candidates should be Graduate in any discipline. Those possessing Post Graduate qualification in Business Management, with specialisation in Supply Chain Management/ Operations Management will be preferred. The person should have pleasing personality and should possess high degree of communication abilities, selling skills with strong leadership qualities.

 

[c]    Experience

The candidate must have minimum 15 years of focused experience in Logistics Business. We are looking for a highly matured person, who could effectively communicate with various levels in the organization, and provide guidance and support to other colleagues in the function. The incumbent is also expected to deal with Govt. Departments, Foreign Associates independently.


 

Specific previous exposure to the following activities will be considered as added advantage:-


 

i.    Marketing/operation of cargo services, which would involve developing strategies to add new clientele for imports and exports by air / sea, retention and expansion of busi- ness with existing customers, co-ordination with clients, liaising / negotiating with Air- lines / Shipping lines / foreign associates and promoting new projects for handling im- port / export cargo.


 

ii.        The incumbent is expected to guide the team in conceiving and providing tailor made but cost-effective Freight Forwarding solutions to suit the requirement of the custom- ers.


 

iii.    Oversee operations in the area of import / export air / sea cargo, consolidation and break bulking, customs clearance, forwarding and ensuring timely delivery of consign- ments, timely collection of payments, filing of reports and returns.


 

COMPENSATION

Selected candidate will be placed in the Pay Scale of Rs. 36200-62000.    Other allowances and perquisites will be as per Company Rules. The annual CTC would be in the range of Rs. 12.69 to 20.29

Lakhs, depending on qualification/experience of the selected candidate.


 

RESERVATION

The Government of India directives with regard to reservations of SC / ST / OBC / Physically Handicapped shall apply. Candidates belonging to this category should specifically mention the same in their applications. Relaxation in maximum age prescribed is applicable in case of SC / ST / OBC and Physically Handicapped candidates as per Government of India Directives. Candidates belonging to OBC category seeking the benefit of reservation should produce certificate from Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar, certifying that they do not belong to the creamy layer.


 


 

OTHER INFORMATION

[a]    Depending on qualification and experience, selected candidates will be fitted in the appropriate scale of pay in the grade, as per rules of the Company.

[b]    Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed travel expenses as per the rules of the Company.

[c]    The Company may relax age in the case of exceptionally qualified / experienced candidates.

[d]    In the event of non-availability of candidates with suitable qualification and experience, the

Company reserves the right to offer position in appropriate lower grade.

[e]    The selected candidate may be required to work in any location in India or outside the Country including assignments to the Company's Joint Ventures / associates.
